More Lessons

I am starting to think the expression "you learn something new everyday" was specifically referring to pregnancy.

1. Movements, especially changes in position, have become slower and slower. Apparently, in making room for Baby T, my body is stretching.  This doesn't feel like stretching to me, more like pain!  Being as short as I am, I have to stretch, a lot - to reach the bowls on the top shelf, the shirts in my closet, to step down out of my car, to get my feet on the ground in the mornings- and if i forget and try to get any of this done with any speed at all, I find myself doubled over in pain.

2. I have a new BFF.  Her name is Bella Band.  This handy little piece of soft elastic allows me to wear all my jeans and pants without feeling like my body is being squeezed in half.  Why did I not know about this before?!  I will probably not be giving this up after Baby T arrives.  Skinny jeans will always fit.

3.  Nap time is my new favorite time of day.  Most women seem to get energy back when they begin the second trimester, but I seems to be right the opposite.  Although I did feel sick ALOT during my first three months, I never lost my energy.  I couldn't sit still.  Now that the second trimester is well under way, I don't feel sick as often, but I could sleep all the time.  I am not sure I understand, but I am not going to argue.  I am sure once Baby T arrives, I will wish for naps.

4.  I already know that I am overly ambitious.  I have so many ideas of how I am going to do things - green alternatives to disposable diapers (love the gdiapers idea), make my own organic baby food, learn to sew to make all these cute little clothes like the SAHM's, even though I will be working - I'm sure about 95% of those ideas will never happen. Oh well.

We have our next check-up on Monday, so maybe I will have more news then.  We will probably have to wait another month to learn boy or girl, but I am going to try to talk them into letting us look on this visit.  Wish me luck :)
