We spent Memorial Day Weekend in Starkville with the Dahl family and had such a great time. It was so much fun watching Jacob attempting to play with Sutton, and getting to spend some time with our friends too! Saturday morning, A and I took Jacob to campus to have a mini photo shoot. I love how they turned out!
I also got a really cute one of A and Jacob playing Sunday afternoon. How sweet! And, today just happens to be A's birthday- Happy Birthday!
And, just in case you haven't seen enough pictures yet, we went Monday afternoon and took pictures with my great grandmothers, Jacob's great-great grandmothers. We have been wanting to get pictures of all five generations for a while and finally got the chance.
I promise a better-late-than-never 7 months post is coming soon!

Happy Friday!
We have had such a busy week this week. I'm not sure if I can remember everything! We started the week getting back into routine after the busy weekend. I think Jacob was a little disappointed when he got up Monday morning and didn't have a house full of people to play with him! Tuesday, we went to stroller club and walked a few miles and then to Jacob's first story time at the library. He loved it! He listened to the songs and books, watched the puppets and other kids, and laughed at so much. That will definitely become part of our weekly routine. Wednesday was play group. I've got to start taking more pictures of all the babies together. They are interacting with each other more and more every week and they are so cute! Maybe we can get a video next week. Jacob has also spent more one on one time with A this week. I have had several training meetings for the new job and A has been able to come home and watch him for me. We are so lucky to both have that kind of flexibility. Today is dark and rainy, but I hope it's over soon. We plan to have just as much fun this weekend as we've had all week!
And I can't post a Happy Friday post without the week's cutest pictures. We have an impromptu photo shoot during bath time last night and I can not believe how cute these turned out!

Jacob's Baptism
Last weekend was wonderful! We had lots of family in town and we had a great time visiting and enjoying too much good food. I was so impressed with how well Jacob did the whole weekend and especially during the baptism. He just smiled and wasn't a bit shy! He was pretty quiet during the service and went to sleep when the sermon started. Overall, I don't think we could have asked for a better weekend! And now for the good part...

I think he's learned what to do when he sees a camera!
He still loves his swing!
so sweet

His outfit was Andrew's and it fit him perfectly!

We are so thankful that our wonderful families came to share this special event with us! We know what a long drive it can be and we are more than honored that everyone wanted to be here.

Happy Friday!
I am SO glad it's Friday! This has been a crazy week. Before Jacob was born, I had planned to go back to work after about 2 months, but after he arrived, that was harder than I thought it would be. For the past 6 months, I have been trying to decide what to do - what would be best for our family and what would be best for Jacob. A and I have both done quite a lot of praying about it and I finally found a great opportunity. I will be working again, but only in the afternoons after A is home from work. I will still be able to stay home with Jacob during the day and he won't have to go to daycare. That was my biggest goal, so I am thrilled! I did feel a certain amount of responsibility to the job I was on leave from. I knew they would be happy for me, but I didn't want to seem completely ungrateful for all the time they had given me and the understanding they had for my situation. So, I told them what I had decided and I agreed to come back for 2 weeks to help find someone full time to replace me and begin the training (they had someone temporary while I was out). My last day was this past Wednesday and I had training for my new job on Thursday. So, again, I am SO happy it's Friday! I will give more details about the new job later, I am still training and still learning, and I am not completely sure when I will start. I could not be happier that this has worked out and I am so relieved to stop feeling like my time at home with Jacob will be over soon!
And on top of all that, Jacob had his check up/shots this week. I know I posted his stats - which we were so happy about! Knowing that he started out at 13% for weight, 46% is great! But that post was very short, to say the least! He did well with his shots and hasn't had any problems from them so far. The doctor said he had a slight case of eczema (we pretty much knew, but wanted her opinion) and gave us a new cream that is really helping. She also said that he is old enough to be sleeping in his bed all night and we need to work with him to break the habit of waking up and getting put in our bed half way through the night. I will admit that's mostly our fault. At 3 am, we're both too tired and lazy to get him back to sleep every time and he can be quite stubborn. But the doctor's advice motivated me and we have worked to fix this problem the past 2 nights. The first night, he cried for about 40 minutes and then went back to sleep. Last night, he only cried for 20 minutes, so I am hopeful this night will be even better. It has been tough, but a good night of sleep every night will be well worth a few bad nights. Wish us luck!
Now on to the good part, this week's cutest pics!

He's starting early! Even though he only seems to want to chew on them, Jacob does like his golf clubs he got for Easter!
And what could be more comfy than an Oscar pillow?!

6 month stats
Jacob had his 6 month check-up and shots today. He did really well and only cried for a few minutes after the shots. He is 27 inches long (67%) and 17.5 lbs (46%).
I'll post more and pics later this week. Have a great day!
