New Friends

I'm sure it will all change as soon as I say this, but life is getting pretty routine these days (which is great!)  Jacob has been on a schedule for quite a while now, but it seems like he is really starting to settle into it now.  He knows when it's time to eat, play, and nap.  He's always known when it's time to eat, but having him sure of his nap time is really helpful.  He's happier during playtime ...

...and he also sleeps better at night.  He's been sleeping through the night for a little over a month now, but I haven't been.  He doesn't wake up to eat during the night, but he usually fusses during the night, either because he's gotten himself in an uncomfortable position or because he wants his paci.  I can't complain, getting up for ten minutes is nothing like getting up for at least 45 minutes to feed him, so this was good enough for me.  Well, last night was even better.  We put Jacob to bed and did not hear a peep out of him until around 8:00 this morning.  He slept all night, really slept!  I couldn't believe it.  I think it is also helping that he has moved into his crib now.  Until about 2 weeks ago, he was sleeping in a cradle in our room.  He has much more room in the crib and he takes full advantage of that space!  Most nights, I put him down at one end of the crib and find him the next morning at the other end.  Several of these morning, he has also been rolled over on his tummy.  I have yet to see him roll over while he's awake, he tries really hard but just doesn't make it all the way over, but he's getting to be an expert in his sleep!

He's also getting to be pretty good at his tummy time mat.

And about that post title... Jacob is getting to be quite attached to his new friends. As you can see from these pictures, he has at least one of them with him almost all the time! I'm pretty sure the green elephant and the monkey are his favorites right now, but he's happy to play with any and all of them.

Happy Tuesday!
