2 month and 2 year check up

Carson and Jacob both had a check up today and both boys got great reports.

Carson's stats:
23 1/2 inches (61%)
11 lbs 14 1/2 oz (44%)

He is sleeping well so far, about 7-8 hours at night.  He is taking 5-6 bottles a day and growing so fast.  In so many ways, he is a lot like Jacob.  He seems to be built the same way, just a little bigger.  He is also very laid back and calm, unless he's hungry.  But in so many ways he is very different.  He loves to be held or watch TV, both of which Jacob didn't really like. He also doesn't look like Jacob very much.  It's going to be interesting to see if that changes as they grow.  And of course, we took a 2 month picture.

Jacob also got a great check up today.  He is growing taller faster than gaining weight, as usual.  He is talking so much now!  He repeats almost anything you say and remembers so many words.  Jacob still isn't a bit shy.  He talks to anyone and everyone that will talk to him.  He loves to yell at strangers in the grocery store to make them talk to him.  I have to say, it can be quite funny!

Jacob is still sleeping 11-12 hours at night and 2-3 during the day.  I know that's a lot, but I think it's because he isn't still the whole time he's awake.  Jacob still doesn't really like TV, except for "monsters," better known as Sesame Street.  He has so many funny names for things.  A cat is a "me-no" because he's gotten in trouble a few times playing too rough with cats.  It's literally, "me, no!" as in, he isn't supposed to play with them.  I love his logic right now!

Jacob is completely obsessed with anything with wheels.  He loves trucks, cars, tractors, bulldozers, wagons, trains, planes, and anything else that moves. And if it has wheels and a siren, well that's just the best thing he's ever seen!  Jacob is also extremely interested in football and golf.  If a football game is on in our house, which is almost all the time, he runs to his room to get his football and "football hat" and throws the ball along with the teams on TV.  He is also getting pretty good at hitting the golf ball, in fact almost too good to practice in the house anymore. I never really knew what they meant before, but I have to say, he is all boy!

Jacob's stats:
35 1/4 inches (66%)
26 lbs 12 oz (23%)

Jacob's 2nd Birthday

Last weekend was Jacob's 2nd birthday, and we celebrated all weekend!  All of Jacob's grandparents came to town and he was so happy to see everyone.  We had a party for him Saturday morning.  Everyone had a great time playing in the bounce house and Jacob loved his new tricycle!

 Jacob requested a "Bulldog-Firetruck Cake"

Playgroup babies - they're getting so big now!

Later the afternoon, we went to the Boo-lloon Festival at the park.  It was a fun evening and the balloons were so pretty!

Sunday was Jacob's birthday and he was really happy to see that his balloons were still there when he woke up.

We all went to lunch at All-Aboard before everyone left to go back home.  Jacob got a train whistle while we were there.

And he LOVED his birthday brownie!

We were all so happy that all our family could come to celebrate Jacob's special weekend!
