Father's Day Weekend

Our Father's Day Weekend was busy, and turned out to be quite eventful!  We went to New Albany to spend time with some out-of-town family we don't get to see very often.  It was great to see everyone and spend Saturday together.  We had a small family shower for Baby T2 and celebrated the upcoming birthdays of two of my cousins little boys.  All the little boys had fun opening gifts and playing with each others toys!

Of course Jacob got a few new toys too!
Baby T2 got so many cute gifts!

We also spent a lot of the weekend in the pool.  I was so impressed how well Jacob did in the water.  We put him in with his floaties and he was off.  He didn't want anyone to hold him at all.  He just kicked and moved around all by himself.  I cannot believe he's so comfortable in the water already!

Sunday was pretty laid back.  My mom just had her gall bladder removed last week, so after Saturday's festivities, she needed to rest on Sunday.  My dad hadn't been feeling to great either, so we skipped church and opted for a relaxing morning playing outside with Jacob.  A enjoyed his father's day morning of uninterrupted coffee and newspaper too! Sunday morning was so relaxed that we didn't even remember to take any photos!
A, Jacob, and I got on the road after lunch, and it wasn't long before we found out why my dad hadn't been feel well all week.  Mom had to take him to the ER and he had his appendix removed last night.  Happy Father's Day?

Update

1. Baby T2 and I had our 24 week check up yesterday and passed with flying colors!  All my test from previous visits have come back normal and I only have the glucose test (yuck!) left for my next appointment.  I've gained a total of 8 pounds so far and Baby T2 is measuring about a week ahead (just like Jacob!).  I wonder if that means we should expect him a week early too...
2. Jacob is doing great and really enjoying all the outside time summer is bring his way.  I try to go out with him as much as possible, avoiding the heat.  If only there was a way to avoid the mosquitoes too... He's been talking more and more and trying new words every day.  He's finally got the concept of "please" which makes me very happy.  He only had one busted lip last week, so that's pretty good for us.  Also, his latest trick is taking off all his clothes and diaper.  That's not one of my favorite new skills, to say the least!
3.  Baby T2 still doesn't have a name.  I think A and I are both starting to get worn out from the discussions and searching, but surely we'll find something soon, right?!

And since I can't post without at least one picture...

This one is from Memorial Day weekend.  My parents came to visit and brought Jacob a splash pool.  I guess he thought his car needed to be washed while he was playing.  That was all his idea!

Happy Wednesday!

Cheap Entertainment

Jacob loves anything involving water, and he was so excited when he finally got his hands on the water hose!
