10 Months

10 months? Already?

At 10 months, Jacob is...

• still wearing some 9 month and some 12 month clothes, 9 months in pants and shirts and 12 months in rompers, onesies, and pj's
• still taking 4 bottles a day and getting a little better with his sippy cup
• eating 3 meals a day and experimenting with table food - he still doesn't like most foods with texture
• crawling well on all fours
• pulling up with no problem
• walking along furniture easily
• saying 'mama,' dada,' 'baba,' 'hey,' bye-bye,' and lots of other babble that I'm sure means something to him!
• in his big boy car seat and adjusting well
• loving being outside more now that it's cooling off a little
• very social - he loves playing with his friends and talking to all the other moms at playgroup every week!
• has 2, almost 4 teeth
• gives the best hugs!

And also of importance - tomorrow will be Jacob's first day at daycare!  I am rejoining the (paid) working world, but only part time.  Jacob will go to daycare, but I will still be able to take him to storytime at the library on Tuesdays and playgroup every Wednesday afternoon.  I am pretty sure Jacob will enjoy getting to make new friends and play every day and I will enjoy still having a good bit of time to spend with him.  If I have to go back to working outside the home, I am thankful I have the opportunity to do it this way!

Jacob in Action

I've taken a few videos this week that I just have to share.  The first two are a little on the long side, but too cute.  We bought Jacob a bucket of shape blocks Saturday and he was so excited to play with them!

And last night, Jacob and Oscar were having so much fun playing together. I only got a few seconds, but it was just too funny!

Jacob's first weekend away

This post is a little delayed, but better late than never.  Two weeks ago, A and I went back to Starkville for a golf tournament and fun weekend with friends.  While we were there, Jacob spent the weekend with Kay-Kay and Papa.  He did really well; I'm not sure he noticed we were gone! 

He had lots of play time...

visited his great-great grandmothers...

and his great-grandparents.

Jacob also went to visit his new little cousin Caleb.  I'm not sure he really knew what to think about him.

I was so happy that Jacob did well and adjusted to staying in a new place without us so easily!  A and I had a great weekend, and we were so ready to see Jacob when it was over.  Thank you Kay-Kay and Papa for letting Jacob visit!

New Big Boy Toys

Jacob got to try out his new big boy car seat last night as I was trying to get it ready.  I don't think he is too excited.

Of course, he liked the big box much better!

9 month stats

Jacob went for his 9 month check up yesterday, and was very happy to leave without shots!

• 20 lbs 13 oz - 46%
• 30 inches - 89%. 

 Looks like we will be moving into the big boy car seat pretty soon! Other than that, we have a happy, healthy, very busy little boy.
