9 months

At 9 months, Jacob is...
  • wearing some 9 month and some 12 month clothes
  • still eating well, but not a big fan of food with texture - we're working on that
  • slowly learning to use his sippy cup - it works better to beat his high chair with than to drink from
  • loving being outside, even in the heat - our evening walks are one of his favorite things
  • loving bath time and his new found ability to climb out of the bath tub
  • pulling up to his knees and then up on furniture and climbing up - all at once!
  • still scooting instead of crawling - I'm beginning to think that may or may not happen!
  • standing more and more and getting much better with his balance too
  • talking all the time, no new words yet though
  • still as happy as can be!
We don't go in for his 9 month check up for a few more weeks, but I will post his stats then.

Have a great day!

Weekend Update

Kay-Kay and Papa came to visit last weekend and I'm pretty sure Jacob had a great time!  He loved all the attention and was not happy when he woke up from his Sunday afternoon nap to find an empty house.  Papa was recovering from a small operations and supposedly taking it easy, but we all know that didn't really happen.  We ran errands and played at home for most of the weekend.  Of course, I have pictures to share!

Jacob had his first BBQ ribs.  Wonder if he'll love them as much as his daddy?!

Reunion weekend

Last weekend was really busy, but a lot of fun.  We all went to New Albany for a weekend of reunions.  First, we met up with my extended family for a little mini-reunion to give my cousin a baby shower.  The shower was planned for 3 weeks before her little boy was due, but instead, it was 2 weeks after he arrived!  He is so tiny and so precious.  We were all so glad to get to see him and to spend the weekend together.

After the shower, we had a little pool time Saturday afternoon.  Jacob still loves the water and Oscar went swimming for the first time too!

Saturday night was my 10 year high school reunion.  I cannot believe that we have been out of high school that long!  The party was so much fun and it was so great to see everyone.

I love these girls!

Before we left town Sunday afternoon, we stopped by Will's 5th birthday party.  I think Jacob really liked the jump houses!

Birthday boy!

Needless to say, we were exhausted by the end of our weekend, but it was so much fun.  I love getting to spend time with family and friends!  We can't wait to see every one again.

Have a great day!

a few new things

Jacob has learned a few new skills over the past week or so and I finally got videos to share.  Sorry, they are a little long, but hopefully not too long to enjoy!

Jacob is learning to feed himself.

He has also finally learned what to do in his bouncer, well kinda...

But this is what he would rather do!

Thanks for watching!  Have a great day!

Happy Friday - photo update

I have several lots of cute pictures that I haven't gotten around to posting, so I thought I would just post them all at once. Happy Friday!

Last weekend, A and I went to McComb for a wedding and golf tournament.  We took home bubbles from the wedding and Jacob was amazed!

Jacob also got to spend some time with his uncles while we were there.

And of course we have a cute bath time picture....

And fun in the laundry basket...

Jacob has really grown to love Oscar, almost as much as the tags on his collar.

He has also learned how to sit in his high chair - sideways!

Jacob loves playing with his friends at playgroup.

And one of his favorite new tricks is hiding things - underneath him in the walker or car seat, or even in his clothes.  Can you find his teether?

I think his favorite new toy this week is definitely his alphabet blocks.  He loves playing with them - mixing them all up and dumping the out - and chewing on them.  The only problem is that he gets really upset when I try to put them back!
Have a great weekend!
