5 months

Is it really possible that Jacob is already 5 months old?  Wow!  I have to say, we have enjoyed every day with him, but he is really getting to be a lot of fun.  He is 'talking' all the time and playing with everything. He is very expressive and not afraid to show his real opinion about anything.  He loves his toys but would do just about anything to get his hands on the remote or my phone!

Jacob is rolling over easily and working on sitting up.  He is actually better at standing than sitting these days.  If he holds the edge of the couch, he can stand on his own for a few seconds, but he still fold over when I try to sit him up on his own.

I have started feeding his first foods and so far he has tried green beans and peas.  He definitely likes the peas better!  Along with one or two meals a day, he is still taking 5 bottles.  He sleeps about 10-12 hours a night and takes one nap for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours.

And now for the best part of our monthly updates... these are the best pictures we could get this time.  I think the month sign is going to start being a little harder to use than I anticipated!

Have a great day!

a little down time

This week has been pretty lazy for us - no road trips, no company, no appointments - and we've enjoyed it.  Jacob has had fun just playing and hanging out at home.  Even if it's been lazy, this week hasn't been boring.

Jacob got his first Easter basket courtesy of Mia and Teddy Bear this week.  I think he likes it.

I finally found sunglasses for him.  He really likes these!

And Sunday afternoon, Jacob tried to read the paper with A, but I guess he got a little bored.

The most exciting part of our week didn't even take place in Arkansas!  We would like to congratulate our dear friends Amanda and Sterling on the much anticipated arrival of Sutton Sterling Dahl. We get to meet him next weekend and we can't wait!

Happy Monday!

Spring!

Spring is finally here in Arkansas.  A and I went to the Wye Mountain Daffodil festival yesterday afternoon to get some good spring pictures of Jacob.  Needless to say, this was much harder than we anticipated.  These are the best we got.  Enjoy.

Weekend Fun

Kay-Kay and Papa came to visit last weekend and the beginning of this week.  I'm not sure who had more fun - my parents or Jacob!  We played at home, went shopping, and went to the park.  He definitely loved all the extra attention!  A and I also enjoyed the extra attention for Jacob.  We took advantage of the opportunity to go out for a nice anniversary dinner Saturday night.  We took lots of pictures during the visit and I thought I would share a few.

 All dressed up for church

It's apparently more fun to chew on the jumper than to jump.

Another bite please

Maybe not!

Cereal is not so bad

At Jacob's 4 month check up yesterday, our doctor said it was ok to start trying solid foods.  We knew it might take a while for him to get used to, so we thought we would try giving him a little cereal last night.  I wish I would have gotten a good picture of his first bite - his expression was so funny!  We had to switch up between the cereal and his bottle, but after a few bites, he started to like it.  He even reached for the spoon a few times.  I'm sure it will take quite a while to work up to other foods, but for now, Jacob seems to think cereal is not so bad.

Happy Friday!

4 Month Stats and 4 years

Before I get to Jacob's 4 month stats, check it out ---------->   4 years!  Wow, time flies!

So, we celebrated today by taking Jacob to get his 4 month shots.  Needless to say, he did not appreciate it at all.  He turned bright red and screamed as loud as he could.  He's asleep now, and probably will be for a while.

Four month stats: weight - 14 lbs 10 oz - 33%
                               length - 26 1/2 in - 88%

I guess it's pretty obvious by that, he's going to be a lot more like A than like me!

And just because I can't post without including a few cute pictures...

Have a great Thursday!

Happy Mardi Gras!

We had so much fun last weekend!  It was great to get to spend time with family and get away for a few days.  Jacob did pretty well with all the traveling and seemed to really enjoy the parade Sunday.

A's brother Aaron dj'ed one of the floats in the parade!

By the end of the parade, Jacob was worn out!

Happy Mardi Gras!
