Merry Christmas!

We had a very merry, very busy Christmas this year and it was so much fun!  I failed to post pictures from last weeks events, mostly because I didn't take any.  I know, sorry.  Jacob and I went with MMM carolling at the retirement home on Monday.  Jacob didn't carol, but he clapped and laughed the whole time! We finished up last minute holiday errands and to-do list Tuesday while it was yucky and rainy.  Wednesday was the playgroup Christmas party, which was a lot of fun!  Six little ones running around makes for an eventful afternoon!  Thursday was gymnastics and our Christmas celebration here for A, Jacob, and I. Friday we left for my parents. And some time in there, I baked 36, yes 36, dozen cookies and made lots of candy. Yeah, I'm tired just typing it, don't know how we made it through the week!

A few pictures from Christmas at home...

We went to Christmas in Cotton Plant Friday night.  If you've never been, you should go.  That place is crazy!  It is a huge field full of Christmas lights.  It was pretty chilly, so we only walked through a small section, but Jacob seemed to love it.  He still doesn't like Santa (or the Grinch!), but he was pretty friendly with Frosty.

Saturday was Christmas all day!  We had brunch with my dad's family and lunch with my mom's, so needless to say, we were stuffed and exhausted by afternoon!

After all the celebrations and a good nap, we had a little Christmas celebration and present opening with my parents.  Jacob had so much fun and didn't know what to do with all his gifts!

Christmas day was wonderful!  We went to church that morning.  They didn't have a nursery, so Jacob went to church with us for the first time.  That was interesting!  He loved the singing and even chimed in a few times while the preacher was preaching!  After church and lunch and a nice nap, we went to visit my great-grandmothers.

Santa came to visit Jacob a little late on Christmas.  He must have known how busy we would be!  Jacob loved everything he brought!

And, just in case you've made it this far, I have a few more Christmas pictures to post!

Thanks for hanging in there with my longest post ever!  Happy Wednesday!

Jacob met Santa

Saturday morning was the Maumelle Mommy and Me Christmas party, Pancakes and Pj's with Santa.  Jacob seemed to be in such a good mood and so excited to see all his friends for breakfast.  The excitement ended pretty abruptly when he sat in Santa's lap.  Needless to say, Santa is not his new best friend!
I was pretty shocked.  I have never seen Jacob meet anyone he didn't like, but it made me feel better to see that all his friends felt the same way.

Poor Santa!  I'm sure he was glad to see this group of little ones move on to another activity!

Jacob felt better after he spent a little time with his Daddy.

Jacob really enjoyed the story time with Mrs. Claus.  I'm not sure if he and Lylah were listening to the story!

And Jacob got a gift from Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Yep, that has my name on it.

I'll post more Christmas activities as we got this week!  Happy Monday!

This past week has been busy, as usual.  Last week, Jacob and I went with a few friends to the Wonder Place.  And let me tell you, Jacob loves that place!  They have so many things to do and different places to explore.  They all had a great time!

Friday, Jacob, A and I all loaded up for our first weekend of travel.  We dropped Jacob off with Kay-Kay and Papa and went to Memphis for A's work Christmas party.  We had a great time and really enjoyed a night out.  Saturday, we went back to Mississippi and enjoyed a day with family.  I went to Christmas dinner with all my friends from high school Saturday night.  I love that we still do that every year and its always so nice to catch up with old friends I only see a few times a year.  We finally made it back home Sunday and have been busy since!  We have been finishing up last minute shopping and wrapping.  Jacob and I went to the last story time at the library before Christmas.  We had playgroup and gymnastics this week, and the week is not over yet!

Besides all the activities we've had going on, Jacob has also decided it's now time to explore every inch of everything!  He has been crawling and climbing anywhere and everywhere he can.  I'm not sure when he will decide he's ready to walk, because he has no problem getting anywhere he wants to go.  One of his new favorite things to do is to climb into the toy boxes with his toys.

I'm sure he will be so excited to play with all his new toys after Christmas!  Or at least all the boxes...

happy Thursday!

it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

December is here and it seems like Christmas is barrelling in, full steam ahead!  We have been busy, decorating, shopping, wrapping gifts, attending parties, and getting ready for ALL the traveling this month will bring our way.

A and I attended a tacky sweater party last weekend (sorry, no pictures from that night!).  It was fun to get out for the night, and J had his first night with a babysitter.  He did great!  We called someone we know (and Jacob loves!) from our church.  They played for a while and he went right to sleep.  I think we may have to call her more often!

We also put up our Christmas tree last week.  I have been impressed by how well Jacob has behaved with it so far.  True, we no longer have any ornaments on the bottom foot and a half of the tree, because he picks them off like fruit and I have to move them higher, but he hasn't tried to pull it over. Yet.
We woke up to quite a nice Christmas-y surprise this morning.  Snow!  And the good kind of snow, just enough to cover the ground, but not enough to stick to the streets and make it difficult to get out.  I took Jacob out after breakfast to see the snow, thinking he would be excited.  Not so much.  He seemed curious, but when I put him down to play in it, he was over it.  He didn't like touching or the way it tasted.  Maybe he'll be more excited when he can run around in it!

Happy Wednesday!

Oh So Thankful

Thanksgiving in McComb this year was so much fun.  Jacob had a blast spending time with family and being the complete center of attention.  He literally sat in the middle of the table at Thanksgiving and smiled and laughed at everyone watching him.  In his usual social manner, he spent time with everyone and loved them all.  He loved going exploring in the country and in Teddy Bear and Mia's house too.  He found lots of new toys, but I think the piano was probably his favorite!

I have to say, I was not looking forward to the drive at all, but Jacob did remarkably well.  He handled the 6 1/2 hours like a pro.  We were pretty busy while we were there, visiting friends and family, shopping, watching football, and eating of course!  Jacob did so well with it all.  I could tell he was a little disappointed to be back at home with only me to play with on Monday.  And now, for the pictures...

 Such a cutie!

Living several hours away from family, A and I do not take the time we get to spend together and all the help we get with Jacob for granted. For that, we are always thankful.
