I will post more details soon!

Two weeks to go...

I have been slacking again, but I have a good excuse.  I am now a little over 38 weeks pregnant.  I am tired.  I haven't been blogging consistently, but I haven't been cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, or sleeping consistently either.  Poor A, he really has been learning to do a lot more around the house this past week.  He has told me many times throughout the pregnancy, "I'll do whatever you need me to do for you,"  well now it's turned into whatever he needs to do for himself too because I probably didn't do it.  I feel bad about my recent laziness, but I have made it quite a long way into the pregnancy before it became an excuse for anything, so I guess I'm not that bad... I am also very grateful that I have made it this far before becoming 'uncomfortable' as I've always heard and read it.  I think that's just a really nice way to say that everything hurts and you'd really rather not move, except for the fact that it also hurts to stay in one position too long.  Until about a week ago, I was honestly in no hurry to have Baby T - not that I didn't want him to be here, I just wasn't impatient yet.  Now I am.  He has completely ran out of room; I think I can feel everything he does now and it's not all that pleasant.  I miss the cute little fluttery kicks, now I have the foot-lodged-in-my-ribs-and-still-kicking kicks. I am still terrified about bringing him into the world, but I guess this stage of pregnancy is designed to make me want to face that fear.  I know I sound a little pessimistic, and I don't mean to at all.  I am just finally living the reality of the last few weeks of pregnancy.  I always heard that it would be as bad as the first few weeks, and I believe it now.  But, it will be over before I know it and Baby T will be here, so I'm still pretty excited too!

One more week down, only 3 to go!

I went for my 37 week check-up this morning.  She said Baby T is still very active (I knew this part!) and everything was going well.  The best guess as to his size is about 6 to 6 1/2 pounds right now, but that's only a guess.  We'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out for sure!  As I was leaving, she said "I'll see you next week, if not before then!"  Wow, I guess we have made it to the 'any-day-now' part!  At 37 weeks, Baby T is now full term.  He could be born happy and healthy any time he wants :)

Here's the latest picture of me and Baby T, taken this past weekend, so about 36 1/2 weeks.  I don't think you can honestly call it a 'bump' anymore!

Finally Finished!

These will be the last nursery pictures, I promise! I just couldn't post pictures of the work in progress without posting the finished product too. I think it finally has a little personality and it is definitely ready for Baby T.

Five reasons my Friday is Fabulous

1.  I just got back from lunch with A at Chick-fil-a.  Lunch date and Chick-fil-a = a fabulous day!

2.  I somehow talked A into agreeing to go to TJ Maxx with me after work.  I don't know how this happened, but I'm not arguing at all.  I'm pretty excited :)

3. I only have 26 more days until Baby T's due date, which translates to only 15 more work days after today - that's only 3 more Mondays! -   Only 15 more days of waking up at 6 AM and fighting Little Rock traffic. Only 15 more days of paperwork and stress and planning.  Only 15 more days until I (hopefully!) have a few days to rest and relax before Baby T arrives!

4. A asked for my ideas for Christmas last night.  That makes me very happy because, by ideas, A means write down, circle, or email him a picture of exactly what you want with the color and size and all other important information.  He doesn't go for the guessing and trying to get it right; he wants the link so all he has to do is click the order button.  I haven't shopped for myself, with the exception of a few maternity clothes all year, so I can't wait to look at all the cute fall and winter clothes with expectations of getting to wear them sometime in the next few months.  Hmmm...where should I start looking first?

5. I'm not sure which yet, but A and I are going to either northwest Arkansas to see the fall colors or the Little Rock Air Show tomorrow.  Either one will be a fun way to enjoy the fall weather and result in watching less football so I will be happy.

I hope you're having a Fabulous Friday!

appointment, class, and life in general

So, just to update on everything...

I went to my 36 week check-up yesterday.  Before pregnancy, I, like most people I'm sure, thought that pregnancy lasted 9 months.  Haha, yeah.  As I am sitting here officially 9 months pregnant with 4 weeks to go, I now know that's not the case.  However, the doctor did say that everything was still going great and right on schedule.  She said that Baby T is now engaged (I could have told her that!) and causing all my hip pain. She also said that I'm 1 cm dilated.  I don't think that's anything to get very excited about yet, but at least we are on the way.

The countdown is under a month now and getting into an imaginable amount of days.  Needless to say, A and I are starting to get pretty nervous.  I am surprised, however, at the new motivation he seems to have found.  He has been helping me finish everything up around the house and even suggesting things that need to be done.  I am quite impressed with his sudden interest in being prepared.  Anyone that knows A knows that prepared is not always the word you would use to describe him, so this is definitely a nice new characteristic.  I wonder if this will last into fatherhood or if he is just nesting?

We went to our last childbirth class last night.  No videos and more massage, so I say it was a great class.  During class last night, while going over the information, music would randomly start playing.  The music was supposed to represent a contraction and the husbands were supposed to massage the wives' backs while it played.  This was quite entertaining, as the massage tools included tennis balls and rolling pins.  The music also progressed in intensity to represent the growing intensity of contractions.  We started with instrumental music from Titanic and went all the way to the theme song from Caddyshack.  Needless to say, we were laughing a lot more during the 'contractions' than I think we will in real life.  Not sure if we'll be packing a rolling pin in the hospital bag either!

My parents came to visit last weekend.  They brought us more clothes for Baby T, of course!  I'm not sure if it's possible, but I think they are trying to spoil him before he is even born.  We relaxed and just enjoyed the company.  We stayed around the house most of the day Saturday and went to lunch Sunday for my daddy's birthday.  It's crazy to think the next time we see them, and A's parents, will probably be when Baby T arrives.

All that aside, life if pretty boring at the Tullos house.  We've just been staying in and trying to keep up with our DVR.  I love when all the shows come back in the fall, but we apparently watch way too many now.  There are several nights a week that our DVR is overbooked.  That's ok though; I'm sure we won't mind a surplus after Baby T arrives - if we can stay awake to watch it all!

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Five reasons my Friday is Fabulous

1. It's October and it's beautiful outside!  I know I have already expressed how much I love this time of year, but I really, really do!  Great weather, beautiful colors, lots of festive things to do - I could go on and on.  I love the feeling of just riding around with good music and the windows down and this is the best time of year for that.  A and I are actually planning to take a drive next weekend into the Ozarks to check out all the beautiful fall color; I can't wait!

2. My parents are coming to visit for the weekend.  It's my Daddy's birthday, so I am glad we will get to spend it with them.  It also means we get to see people without going anywhere!  It's nice to have company but still get to relax.

3.  Childbirth class this week was much better!  There was no scary video, and we learned relaxation techniques.  A had to give me a massage in class and the instructor made it sound so important that he has insisted on giving me one every day since then.  Who am I to argue with the expert, right?!

4. We are no more than about 4 1/2 weeks away from meeting Baby T.  I can't believe it!  It seems like just a few days ago I found out and I feel like I only have a few days left.  Our little pumpkin could be here before the month is over!  I hope to know a lot more after my next doctor's appointment on Wednesday.

5. We have FINALLY finished Baby T's room.  We have all the furniture in the room and everything pretty much in place.  I feel like we have been working on it forever!  I wanted to pace myself and not try to do it all at once, but I think that just made more work.  Maybe I should have just tried to do it all in one weekend.  I will post finished pictures soon for anyone who is curious.  It has definitely been a work in progress, but A and I are really happy with it.  Now all we need is Baby T.
