I did get slightly inspired and decide to take on a few project on Saturday. I painted what will be the name sign for Baby T's room, but only the background. Of course the name and all other information is still blank, so I will just have to post a picture of that after he arrives and it is all filled in. I also made a fall decoration for our front door. I have been looking for a fall wreath, but haven't found one I loved. I saw a really cute pumpkin hanging at a local store, but decided I could make one myself instead. It didn't turn out exactly like the one I saw, but I still think it's pretty cute. I can't wait to get some real pumpkins, mums, and maybe even some halloween lights out to go with it!

Latest Project
So, last weekend at the Tullos home turned out to be exactly what we thought it would - very relaxing and slightly boring. We watched A LOT of football, of course. Oh, and I beat A for the second weekend in a row in fantasy football :) Because of the the way the schedules fall, we have to play each other AGAIN this weekend (three in a row between two leagues) so we'll see if he can pull off one win against me, but at least I've already won 2 out of 3!

Five reason my Friday is Fabulous
I'm really starting to look forward to writing this post every week - it's a good start to my weekend.
1. Speaking of weekend, that's my reason #1 - a nice, relaxing weekend at home! Well, relaxing may be an overstatement considering I will be in the house with A and football will be on the TV for the entire weekend, but after this long I have gotten pretty good at ignoring his ranting and raving.
2. It's officially fall! I cannot begin to explain how much or why I love this time of year, but I do. I am not the typical "summer is my favorite!" person; I honestly am not that big of a fan of summer. I haven't had a summer off in at least nine years, it's way too hot and humid, and it's so busy! I love fall and winter. I love how everything slows down just enough to catch your breath before the holidays begin, I LOVE fall clothes (especially boots!), and I love all the seasonal decorations - I'll probably make something this weekend!
3. With fall comes Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I know it's silly, but I love those things and I get really excited every year when they start selling them again. In fact, I really want one right now!
4. We went for our 34 week check-up on Wednesday and got another good report. Baby T is right on track. We go back in 2 weeks to begin our weekly visits. That ticker at the top of the page can't be right, can it? Only 40 more days? Wow.
5. We survived week #2 of childbirth class. The video wasn't too bad, but still didn't ease any anxieties about Baby T's arrival! We were told week #3 will be about relaxation and massage techniques - now that sounds like a lot more fun to me!

New Albany Shower
Saturday was the shower for Baby T with all the girls from New Albany and their moms. The shower was a lot of fun and it was wonderful to see everyone and just to get catch up a little. We definitely don't get to see each other enough anymore and its nice to spend at least a few hours together every now and then!
Friends
Hostesses
Such a cute cake!
and great food of course!
Carter is SO cute! It's hard to believe how big he is now! He was our last baby shower honoree-to-be.
I am so appreciative of everything everyone has done for us to make this such a special time. Now I just have to find a place for all Baby T's new things and start counting the days!

Five reasons my Friday is Fabulous
1. I have to start out my blessings for the week bragging on A. He is doing SO well at his new job. I think he may have really found his place, at least for now. I have to admit, part of me is a little jealous. He chose a major and never changed it, graduated, started working, loves what he does, and is very good at it. Isn't that what we all hope to do?! I am so proud of him and hope he continues to succeed at the rate he is going now!
2. I am going to New Albany for the last baby shower for Baby T this weekend. This is pretty much a two part reason because A) I am excited to go home, have time to relax, and have plans to see all my grandparents while I am there (I have four grandparents and two great-grandmothers, so visiting everyone is quite an event) and B) this is our last scheduled road trip until after Baby T arrives. I love going on our little trips and seeing friends and family, but these trips are getting more and more challenging and uncomfortable the closer we get to Baby T's arrival. I will miss seeing everyone and go crazy just sitting at home, I'm sure, but it will be nice to have a few weekends of laziness before he gets here.
3. A and I have plans to meet some friends for dinner at Old Venice Saturday night for dinner and it's kinda sad how much I'm looking forward to crawfish rolls. I guess that's just part of being pregnant, huh? (at least, it sounds like a good excuse!)
4. I have a chance this weekend to redeem myself for the embarrassing defeat last weekend in fantasy football. In the past, the second weekend has always been much better for me, so I'm hoping this tradition continues. Also, I'm playing A this weekend and it would be nice to win that one!
5. I'm really excited for the baby shower for Baby T Saturday! This shower will be with all my NA friends and their moms. I absolutely LOVE these girls! We have all been friends since kindergarten, if not earlier. We don't see each other as much as we once did, but we still get together for Christmas every year and every time one of us gets married or has a baby. I personally think its amazing to be friends for as long as we all have and I feel so blessed that they are all helping me celebrate Baby T's upcoming arrival. I tried to find a few of my favorite pictures to post, but it turned into more than a few.

Class #1
A and I went to our first childbirth class last night. We were both pretty tired and a little nervous, but excited to know more. We are in a small class, which I think will be fun because we will get to know the other couples a little easier. I didn't know quite what to expect, but last night was fun. We had a little bit of informative discussion and then went for a tour of the labor and delivery section of the hospital. I have to admit, it was quite scary to realize how soon we will be there. I was surprised by the size of the labor and delivery room and impressed by how nice it was. The postpartum rooms were a different story. A even commented, "we have to stay in there?" I guess they're trying to motivate us to go home sooner than later! They weren't "not nice," just not as large or well decorated as the labor and delivery rooms. Oh well, at that point we will be exhausted and thrilled to be spending time with Baby T, so we probably won't care too much anyway. We have three more weeks of classes, and I'm sure we will learn a lot in that time. The instructor said we would be watching a video next week - wish us luck!

Lately...
Lately, life at the Tullos house has been picking up speed again. We did successfully have a lazy weekend at home. We went to dinner and then had an early movie night on Friday night. Our Netflix selection Friday night was When in Rome. The movie started and A immediately said "chick flick," but I actually heard him laugh a few times. It was pretty predictable, but cute. We went to bed early on Friday night and slept late on Saturday, which resulted in feeling pretty great Saturday! I ran a few errands, went back to TJ Maxx for the purse I couldn't forget from two weeks ago, and of course watched A LOT of football.
Sunday was also a pretty lazy day. We watched more football, and I watched my fantasy team get embarrassingly defeated on the first week. I am getting used to this though. Seems every year the person I play for the first weekend has a record-breaking week. They never score that high again, and I never lose that badly again. I've actually been pretty respectable for the past few years (I even made it to the playoffs last year!), just not on the first week.Oh well, there's always next week!
Since Sunday, however, life has been getting busier. I have tried to cram a week's worth of errands and chores into the first two days of the week because the last half of the week is FULL. We start our childbirth classes tonight, then have a breastfeeding class tomorrow night, and then leave town again Friday for the weekend. Trying to do that much after enjoying a lazy weekend is kinda tough.

I will leave you with this picture for a good laugh. We did get brave enough over the weekend to start assembling some of the items we've been given for Baby T. We were slightly intimidated, but it didn't turn out to be so bad. After assembling the swing, we decided to test it to make sure it worked properly and I guess a little someone thought we needed help. We were quite sure we would not be battling any jealously issues once Baby T arrives, but now we are not so sure! Oscar seemed pretty comfy and pretty sure the new toy is just for him.

Five reasons my Friday is Fabulous
1. After a week of dreary, gray, rainy days, today is a beautiful fall day! The sun is shining and the temperature is just right!
2. A and I are spending the weekend at home. Not that I haven't enjoyed all the time with friends and family over the past few weekends - its been a blast! - but I am really looking forward to sleeping in and being a little lazy.
3. I made it through my first batch of thank you notes in a respectable amount of time. This makes my Friday Fabulous because it means I can check it off my to-do-list. Done.
4. The Saints won their first game last night! Yay! A good start to the first week of fantasy football and a happy husband - what more could I ask for? (Well, maybe a win from Mississippi State, but they made it a close game, so I'm not complaining.)
5. And last, but certainly not least, Baby T is going to have another friend next spring! Some of our best friends have recently announced that they are expecting and A and I are so excited for them! I can't wait to see Baby T grow up with all of our friends' children. I'm sure they will keep us all well entertained!

Baby T Update
Just to give anyone interested a quick update on Baby T's progress, we went for our 32 week check up this morning. The doctor said everything was moving along right on schedule. We have one more two-week appointment, then we move on to the weekly visits. He'll be here before we know it! Also, this picture was taken last week, but it gives you a good idea of how much he is growing these days.

Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day Weekend was so much fun! I definitely did not want to come back to work today. We started the weekend with a baby shower for Baby T at Dandy Doodlez in Starkville Saturday morning. Amanda and Lauren made a delicious brunch and we all painted pottery. I can't wait to see the pieces after they are done!
After the shower, we went to the Mississippi State game. We had so much fun tailgating - more good food and just relaxing with friends.
We went to my parents' for lunch and to pick up Oscar Sunday afternoon and then made it home Sunday night. A and I were pretty lazy yesterday. We accomplished a few things on our to do list, but mostly just laid around. We have another check-up tomorrow and then a weekend at home. It's a good thing we have some time to rest, because the next week brings more traveling and the start of our childbirth classes. Everything has been going by so quickly these past few weeks; I feel like Baby T will be here in no time!
I painted Baby T's first Christmas ornamnent. A and I collect ornaments from everywhere we visit, so it's only fair Baby T gets to start a collection too.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but I painted the ornament, Amanda painted an adorable elephant bank, Melissa painted a really cute Mississippi State plaque, and Lauren painted a frame to match the nursery with fleur de lis (love it!). I will post more pictures of everything after it is all done.

Five reasons my Friday is Fabulous
I made this post last week kinda for an update and kinda to lift my spirits a little at the end of a long week. By the time I make it from Monday to Friday - getting up too early, working all day, taking care of A and the house and errands, and trying to have a little fun - I am exhausted! I remember a time when I looked forward to Friday because it meant I got to stay our way too late with friends. Now I look forward to Friday because I get to turn off my alarm when I go to bed at the regularly scheduled time. Well, last week's Fabulous Friday post really did put me in a good mood. I think its always helpful to focus on our blessings, as we all have so many each day, so I am going to try to make it a weekly posting. Hope you enjoy and feel free to contribute your own reasons your Friday is Fabulous!
1. STARKVILLE!!! - I am so very excited to be leaving today for a fun weekend in Starkville. I get to spend the weekend with some of my very best friends. They are throwing me a very creative shower to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby T and I can't wait to see everyone.
2. Starkville actually counts as two items on my list this week because after the shower, we are going to celebrate the kickoff of Mississippi State Football Season. I am probably not going to make it in the game this time, but we are going to tailgate and I know it will be so much fun. Lots of good food and great friends - what could be better? I wonder what Baby T will think about all the cowbells?
3. Today is exactly 2 months from Baby T's official due date. I know that we have no idea when he will make his entrance into the world, but it is exciting to know it's getting so close. I am honestly terrified, but I know I will be just fine. A is starting to tell me how excited he is that it's getting so close :)
4. Monday is Labor Day! I love 3 day weekends!
5. I'm leaving work early again today - two Fridays in a row! I am not quite sure how I pulled this off, but I am not complaining or asking any questions!
Hope your Friday is Fabulous too!

Last Saturday was the first shower for Baby T and it was so much fun! I was so surprised and honored by how many people came to help celebrate this wonderful time with me. Most of my family was in town and it was great to spend the weekend relaxing and catching up with everyone. Here are a few of the pics.
The hostesses for the shower did such a great job!
My parents
My sweet cousins all did so much work preparing for the shower!
Both families in one place!
Great food and such a cute cake!
So many wonderful gifts - let the thank you notes begin!
