Wow, it's hot!

I am honestly not sure if pregnancy is making it worse, or if I am just shocked each year by how hot summer can be!  I can't wait for September (or at least a break in the heat)! But enough complaining...

I don't have much to update these days.  A and I had another lazy weekend, just enjoying getting to stay at home and rest while we can.  He is currently in Memphis for three days for some training for his new job (which he loves so far, yay!) so I am having some  "I'm not doing anything productive while I catch up on my DVR" time.  I am sure I will be SO ready for him to be home way before he gets back.  I am only good at being alone for a few hours and then I start to get really bored and then really cranky.

100 days to go - wow!  As of tomorrow, count down to Baby T will be in the double-digits.  I have no idea how it has gone by this fast!

According to What to Expect..., Baby T is opening his eyes this week, which I find rather fascinating.  I am not quite sure what there is to see in there, but maybe he will at least develop some better aim with his kicks and not hit my ribs so often.  He is also not any closer to having a name today than he was months ago.  In fact, I think we are further from a decision because we keep thinking of new names that we like.  Oh well.

Random thought, but I have read that babies can have REM sleep and dream before birth.  Without any experiences and any sights, sounds, smells, or feelings outside the womb, what do they dream about?  Are their dreams just a replay of the day, which is almost always the same or do they have an imagination already?  My bet is Baby T is already working on quite an imagination in there.

I've been slacking...

I know.  I haven't written in at least a week and I promised myself I would stick to it this time.  I honestly haven't had too much to write about lately, as my life has consisted of mostly work and sleep.  I am almost ashamed to admit, I actually went to bed at 8:00 last Friday night because I was so exhausted! I don't think I've gone to sleep that early in a few decades; Baby T is wearing me out!
A and I spent the weekend looking for things to do on a budget (we have never actually been able to make ourselves stay on a budget before but felt this might be a good time to start trying).  We finally decided to go Saturday afternoon to pick blueberries at a farm outside town.  It was pretty hot, but we got caught in a small shower, so it cooled off considerably.  I'm not sure A was really excited about the adventure, but we both really enjoyed the drive through parts of Little Rock we hadn't seen and I know he enjoyed the fresh blueberry pancakes, blueberry cheesecake muffins, and the peach and blueberry cobbler that resulted from our excursion!  I was proud of our creative afternoon activity - maybe we can be that successful again this weekend.

In Baby T news, I have determined that he is now:
1. trying to cause me internal injuries by continually kicking me in the ribs
2. suffering from an almost constant case of the hiccups
3. growing entirely too much and too quickly for the 15 weeks he has left before his due date
4. going to be born without a name because A and I are almost sick of talking about it!

Happy Wednesday!

A few new favorite things

I have a few new favorites worth sharing...

The first is not really "new" but definitely a more frequent treat for me.  I've never been the biggest fan, but this summer I have LOVED a good snow cone (which suprising took a long time to locate, but after several phone calls and google searches, we now know about Hobo Joe's who makes a great snow-shake!)  I don't know if I would call it a craving, but I have had more than my usual share during the past few weeks.

I know carrot shampoo sounds really weird, but I love this stuff!  If you have dry hair, or are just looking for something new, its worth trying!

I have read a few new books this summer, but this has by far been my favorite from the library from Amanda.  It's a love story and a mystery - the best combination!  (P.S.  I know I have one that's over due right now but I'm almost done!)

Baby T has a room!

My parents came to visit for the Fourth of July weekend, which means a lot was accomplished in my house.  Every time my parents come to town, we find lots of projects to take on and this week was the nursery.  It is by no means a finished product, but it's on its way.  I know it's a little early, but a girl's gotta take the help when she can get it!

This is the view from the door.  The cradle will be moved into our bedroom after Baby T arrives.

The walls are still blank, but the art work will be completed after we pick a name - so who knows when that will be!

The dresser was in my room when I was younger and then again with me at college.  It matched perfectly!  The pictures to the side are of A and I when we were babies - thought they would be cute to compare to Baby T and see who he looks like!  The diaper hanger on the other side was also made this past weekend.

I am so impressed with my mom and dad.  Their roman shade turned out beautifully!  I am always so amazed at what those two can accomplish.  I only made the valance (you can probably tell!)

It still has a long way to go; I will post more pictures as the room gets cuter!
