I know that most people cannot believe it or understand how, but for the past 2 1/2 years, Andrew and I have had only one car. We have worked out schedules, gone to and from work together, and compromised on many of our trips and errands. It was extremely hard at first, but over time, we have adjusted and even learned to love out one-car life (love might be a bit of an exaggeration, but we have learned to like it). We have definitely learned to love how much money we have saved by only having one car! I never thought we could have survived this long with only one car, but we have. I am actually quite proud of us. I am also quite proud that the one-car life is officially over! Andrew and I purchased a new vehicle this past week and we are thrilled! It is newer, nicer, and creates less anxiety everytime we leave town. (As much as we love the Maxima, she is getting quite old and a little tempermental.) We cannot wait to take it on its first road trip in a few weeks! It's funny though, some things never really change. Even with the transition to a two-car life, we are still riding to and from work together everyday.

Thursday Fun

So, I don't have any scientific evidence to prove it, but I'm pretty sure there's an extra hour added to every Thursday, just to keep Friday even further away! I feel like I have been sitting at this desk for about 3 days all in one day! And, it's raining, AGAIN! I think it has rained about 28 out of the last 30 days. You could probably swim in my backyard right now. I am so ready for Friday!

I'm so excited about tomorrow because we are going on another road trip, to Starkville this time! I cannot wait to see friends and relax. There are a few girls that I have not seen in a long time and I can't wait to hang out! I should have lots of stories to share on Monday!

I love surprises!

The only thing I love more than getting surprises is surprising other people and I got Andrew last weekend! I think he was a little scared by how sneaky I can really be!

I invited Andrew to eat lunch with me on Thursday and he was very excited. When I got to his office to pick him up, I told him I had a surprise for him, but there were 3 rule. 1. Ask no questions 2. Do exactly what I ask you to do and 3. Give up your cellphone for the day. He agreed, but was very confused. After he stopped looking at me like I was nuts, I told him to drive. He was really unsure, but followed instructions. After several hours on the road, we arrived in Birmingham at the Holiday Inn. He was very confused when we didn't check in, and even more confused when Sterling opened the hotel room door. To be fair, Sterling was equally as surprised to see us (Amanda did not tell him either). So after the boys tried to decide what was going on with no luck, we handed them each 2 tickets to the Kings of Leon concert that started in an hour! We all rushed out to dinner, where Andrew was greeted with another surprise, Todd and Jennifer Jackson. We all had a great time at dinner and the concert was amazing! After the concert, Andrew had to go to sleep early, because he had a surprise tee time at the Legislator the next day. We stayed with Todd and Jennifer for the next night, and we all had a great time.

No, there was no special occasion for all the surprises, but that's the best time for surprises. I love catching Andrew off guard!

What day is it?

I was very upset this morning. I made it through breakfast and was on the way to work before I realized it was only Tuesday. How in the world is it only Tuesday? It feels like at least Wednesday, if not Thursday! This is going to be a long week! On the way to work, I also realized that my phone was still laying on my bed at home. I guess this is going to be a long day too!

And now for my random thought of the day - ok, who am I kidding, my random thought of the hour! - I read an article this morning that included the quote of something being blissful. The something didn't really get my attention as much as the word 'blissful.' Other than being full of bliss, what exactly is blissful. So I looked it up. According to the dictionary I found online, bliss is defined as extreme happiness and spiritual joy. Pretty, soothing, and happy - everything I expected. So, now that we all know exactly what it means, have a blissful day!

Almost Friday!

I think that is my official new name for Thursday. The only good thing about Thursday is that it is almost Friday. My weekends have, however, taken a turn. Football season has started again, and I don't think I was fully prepared. I can watch a few good games, and even have an interesting conversation about how the new coach at State is going to do, or who has a chance at the National Championship (which is a pointless conversation considering we have many weeks and many BCS manipulations to go), but I cannot for the life of me find a way to sit on the couch for 12 hours straight and stay interested in football. I'm trying though.

On another note, last weekend was great! I finally had the new countertops installed in both of my bathrooms. Granite! It is definitely a step up from the one-piece plastic mess that was there! I will try to post pics soon.

Random, I know, but Oscar is growing so much and he is just adorable. I had to post a new pic!

I need a break!

We're still in the middle of our summer marathon with two more weekends to go after this one, but for now we get a break! I could not be more excited! I love summertime, but it seems like we have something to do every weekend until its cold again!

For this wonderful weekend break, I think Andrew has planned enough projects around the house to keep us completely busy, (stain the deck, new lights for the bedroom, etc.) but it will be nice to be at home. I'm sure now that Oscar is entirely too confused over all the traveling as well. Everytime I start doing laundry, he gets inside his travel kennel. I'm not sure if he's trying to be helpful or what.

PS... Lauren, good job on the spider. I also killed a HUGE spider by myself this week and was quite proud!

I'm not very patient!

Only a few more hours to wait until the long weekend, but I'm not sure if I can make it! I think the minutes start ticking by slower, just because its getting close.

We have a great weekend planned. Amanda and Sterling are coming to visit, we're going downtown to Riverfest, and we're grilling out tomorrow. I honestly can't wait to see them; we haven't since Christmas. I'm starting to think that living away from good friends make you love them more.

Everyone have a save and happy holiday weekend!

Ok, now it's really been a while...

It has been way too long since I've posted, but so much has been going on! We finally bought and moved into our first house. We love it, but we are quickly getting tired from the to-do-list that comes along with it. The inside is pretty much finished up, but the yard still has a long way to go. Poor Andrew. He might be able to finish, if it would ever stop raining!

We also have another new edition that has been taking up a good bit of our time and providing us with unlimited entertainment! Oscar came to live with us at the end of March. He is growing and learning alot, but also finding way too much trouble to get into! So far, he knows how to sit, shake, lay down, stand up, speak, and find every mud puddle in the yard (there are plenty lately, with all the rain)!
